Tokyo Joypolis
About This Destination
Tokyo Joypolis takes up the 3rd to 5th floors of the DECKS Tokyo Beach mall in Odaiba and runs largely on Sega and licensed game worlds: Sonic, Transformers, Naruto, Ace Attorney and a Sadako horror attraction. Two rides are the ones people queue for. Halfpipe Tokyo swings you up the sides of a giant skateboard ramp while you shift your weight to spin the board, and Gekion Live Coaster is a roller coaster where you play a rhythm game as you ride. Both are 1,000 yen and need riders 130 cm or taller. Most other attractions cost 700 to 900 yen. Work out the pricing before you go. Entry alone is 1,700 yen for adults and 1,400 yen for school-age children, and every ride is on top of that, so if you plan more than four or five rides the 6,000-yen passport (5,000 yen for children) is cheaper. From 15:00 an evening passport is 5,000 yen. Children below school age under 110 cm get in free, and so do visitors aged 60 and over with ID, though they still pay for rides. It is all indoors, and the official site shows live wait times.
