How do I get to Odaiba?
Yurikamome Line (driverless monorail) from Shimbashi Station — the panoramic 22-min ride across Rainbow Bridge is part of the experience (¥390). Stops include Daiba (main shopping), Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center), and Toyosu Market. Rinkai Line from Shibuya/Osaki is faster (15 min, ¥390). The Tokyo Cruise water bus from Asakusa or Hinode (¥1,720, 50 min) is scenic. Walking the Rainbow Bridge pedestrian deck (free, 30–45 min, closed in bad weather) is also memorable.

Odaiba Marine Park for sunset Tokyo Bay views. Free Rainbow Bridge promenade walks.
When is the best time to visit Odaiba?
Sunset (45 min before, year-round) for Tokyo Bay golden hour with Rainbow Bridge silhouette — best from Odaiba Marine Park beach or DiverCity rooftop. Daytime (10:00–17:00) for Gundam transformation shows (every hour from 11:00) and shopping. Summer evenings for Odaiba Beach festival fireworks (limited dates). Avoid heavy rain — much of Odaiba is exposed. Most malls 11:00–21:00. The driverless Yurikamome ride at sunset is itself one of the best photo opportunities.
Is Odaiba good for families with kids?
Excellent for families. Joypolis (¥1,000–4,500) is an indoor Sega theme park with VR rides, climbing walls, and Sonic-themed attractions. Madame Tussauds Tokyo (¥2,500). MEGA Web (free, the Toyota auto theme park with kid driving simulators). The Tokyo Joypolis arcade has 50+ games. Odaiba Beach is shallow with sand, but swimming is generally not allowed (water quality). Stroller-friendly throughout, with covered passages between malls. Many family bathrooms and nursing rooms in malls.
