How do I get to Mount Rokko?

From Sannomiya, take the Hankyu Kobe Line to Rokko Station, then City Bus 16 to Rokko Cable Shita (about 10 minutes). The Rokko Cable Car climbs to Rokko Sanjo Station in 10 minutes for 1,550 yen round trip. From Rokko Sanjo, the Sanjo Bus connects to Rokko Garden Terrace and other summit attractions. By car, take the Rokko Mt. Park Driveway from the Hanshin or Meishin expressways.

When is the best time to visit Mount Rokko?

After dark for the famous 'ten-million-dollar' night view of Kobe, Osaka, and the Inland Sea. Most visitors aim for sunset and stay through twilight. Spring (cherry blossoms in early April) and autumn (foliage from late October to mid-November) are the most photogenic. Summer is noticeably cooler than the city below. Winter brings the snow park for families, but check road and cable status for closures.
