Mount Maya Kikuseidai

Kikuseidai is an observation plaza at about 690 metres near the summit of Mount Maya, part of the Rokko mountain range behind Kobe. It is reached by the Maya View Line, which combines a cable car and a ropeway, from the base of the mountain. The plaza looks out over the built-up plain from Kobe to Osaka, and its night view is counted among Japan's three great night views. The name Kikuseidai comes from the idea of scooping up the stars from the wide sky above. A cafe and rest facilities stand at the plaza.
