About This Destination

Completed in 1954, Japan's oldest TV tower stands 180m over Hisaya-odori Park in Sakae, with indoor and open-air observation decks and a hotel inside. Renamed Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER in 2021.
Designed by Tachu Naito — the engineer behind Tokyo Tower and Osaka's Tsutenkaku — Nagoya TV Tower opened in 1954 as Japan's first integrated broadcasting tower and is now a registered National Important Cultural Property. The Sky Deck observation floor at 90m gives 360-degree views over Nagoya, while the open-air Sky Balcony at 100m sits among the steel lattice. The tower anchors the long, narrow Hisaya-odori Park, redeveloped in 2020 with the Rayard Hisaya-odori Park shops and lawns at its base, and houses a small design hotel on its upper floors. After dark the tower is lit, and it makes a natural pair with Oasis 21 directly to the north.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to Nagoya TV Tower?

Take the subway to Sakae Station (Higashiyama and Meijo lines) or Hisaya-odori Station (Meijo and Sakura-dori lines); the tower is a 3-minute walk through Hisaya-odori Park from either. From Nagoya Station it is about 5 minutes on the Higashiyama Line to Sakae (¥210). The park is a flat, easy walk, so no taxi is needed.

What are the hours and admission?

The observation decks are generally open 10:00–21:00 (until 21:40 on weekends; last entry 20 minutes before close). Adult admission to both the Sky Deck and Sky Balcony is around ¥1,300, with discounts for children. Hours can change for events and maintenance, so check the official site before visiting.
