How do I get to the Osu Shopping District?
Take the subway Tsurumai Line to Osu Kannon Station or the Meijo Line to Kamimaezu Station; both are about a 2-minute walk from the arcades. From Nagoya Station the trip takes about 10 minutes.
What is the Osu Shopping District known for?
It has about 1,200 shops and stalls in covered arcades around Osu Kannon temple, including secondhand clothes, electronics in the Ameyoko building, anime and cosplay shops, and street food from around 30 nationalities such as karaage, Taiwanese, Brazilian and Turkish. The temple holds an antique market on the 18th and 28th of each month, and the area has ties to the World Cosplay Summit.
Is there an entry fee and when are shops open?
Strolling the arcades is free, and most shops open from about 11:00 to 20:00. The 18th and 28th of each month are good days to visit if you want to catch the antique market at the temple.
