The adjacent Osu Kannon Temple anchors the neighborhood with its giant red lantern, while side streets reveal izakaya, international restaurants, and Tokyo-style standing bars. Monthly antique markets and cosplay parades add to Osu's reputation as Nagoya's most vibrant and youthfully alternative district.

The arcades are covered, so rain is not a reason to skip it, and no season is better than another. In autumn the Osu Daido Machi street-performance festival takes over the whole stretch.
