Michi-no-Eki Kyotamba Ajimu-no-Sato is a large roadside station in the hills of Kyotamba, built into a parking area on the Kyoto Jukan Expressway and also reachable from Route 9. It opened in 2015 and draws millions of visitors a year, split between a farm-produce market on the east side and a food court and information hall on the west. The surrounding Tamba region is known nationwide for its premium black soybeans (Tamba kuromame) and chestnuts, and those specialties run through both the shop shelves and the kitchens.
