Michi-no-Eki Miyama Fureai Hiroba
About This Destination
Miyama Fureai Hiroba is a food stop for the villages and river country of Miyama, rather than the thatched village itself. The station stands in Agake on Route 162. Its Flat Miyama shop brings together local vegetables, rice, eggs, miso and other farm products, while the dairy counter turns Miyama milk into soft serve and gelato.
The milk is a good reason to pause even when you are not shopping for groceries. Different businesses share the site, however, and their opening days and hours are not identical. The official directory also notes that popular fresh produce can sell out during the morning. Arrive with some flexibility about what you buy and which counter you use.
Visitor information here can help you plan the next part of the trip through Miyama. Kayabuki no Sato is a separate drive away, not within the roadside-station grounds. Keep enough time for that onward journey, and check the dairy counter’s current schedule before making ice cream the focus of the visit.
