Michi-no-Eki Fujiyoshida
About This Destination
Most visitors come for the water. Fujiyoshida's roadside station has a free tap drawing Mount Fuji groundwater, and on weekends the line of people with bottles and tanks can be long. Containers are sold on site if you arrive empty-handed. The station sits on the northern side of the mountain, a short drive from Kawaguchiko IC, and the peak is visible from the grounds in clear weather.
The other reason to stop is Yoshida udon. These thick noodles are known for their firm, chewy bite, and the light-meal counter serves them as a quick lunch. The produce section sells local vegetables. Next door, the Fujisan Radar Dome Museum tells the story of the weather radar that once stood on the summit. It is a separate facility with its own admission fee and closing days.
The shop closes earlier on weekdays than on weekends and holidays, and the food counter has shorter hours than the shop. Water tap rules, such as limits on the number of containers, can change at busy times. Follow the notices posted beside the tap.
