Founded in 724, it is temple number 31 of the Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage and sits on Mt. Godai. It has a five-story pagoda built in 1980 in the old style, Monju hall statues of national-treasure rank, and white-clad henro pilgrims who give the grounds their pilgrimage atmosphere.
