關於此目的地
A 342-metre grass-covered hill at the eastern edge of Nara Park, known for its wide views over the city and its annual grass-burning festival.
Mount Wakakusa is a 342-metre hill covered entirely in grass, rising at the eastern edge of Nara Park. From its slopes and summit visitors look out over Nara city, the temples of Todai-ji and Kofuku-ji, and the surrounding basin. Deer from the park roam freely on the lower slopes. Each year on the fourth Saturday of January the hillside is set alight in the Wakakusa Yamayaki festival, preceded by fireworks. The hill is open to climbers from the third Saturday of March until the second Sunday of December, from 9:00 to 17:00, with a small entry fee.
