How do I get to Sanrio Puroland?
From Shinjuku Station, take the Keio Line to Keio-Tama-Center Station — about 35 minutes (¥360 limited express, ¥360 local). The park is a 5-minute walk from the station's east exit, signposted with Hello Kitty motifs. Alternatively, the Odakyu Line to Odakyu-Tama-Center Station also works (40 min, ¥440). Free shuttle bus from Tama-Center on weekends and holidays. By car: 20 minutes from Chuo Expressway Inagi IC, paid parking ¥1,500/day.
What's the entry fee and what's included?
Adult Day Passport: ¥3,900–4,900 (varies by date — weekends and school holidays cost more). Child (3–17): ¥2,800–3,800. Under 3 free. Includes all rides (4 in total), all musical shows, character meet-and-greets, and indoor exhibits. Lockers ¥300–500. Souvenirs and food are extra. Open 8:30–17:00 weekdays, 8:30–20:00 some weekends. Buy advance discounted tickets via Klook (~10% off) or the official site.
What's worth seeing for first-time visitors?
Top picks: 'My Melody & Kuromi ~ The Mysterious Wonder Mall' musical (3 shows daily, 25 minutes, theatre seats), the Sanrio Character Boat Ride (gentle indoor cruise through the world of Sanrio), Lady Kitty's House where you can take photos with Hello Kitty herself, the Pretty Cure live show, and the rooftop Sanrio Rainbow World restaurant. Don't miss the daily 14:00 Parade of Wonderland with all major characters. Buy character-shaped popcorn buckets (¥1,800) for refillable souvenirs.
Is Puroland good for adults or only kids?
Both, with proper expectations. Adult Sanrio fans (especially women in their 20s–30s) make up about 50% of visitors and the park's design caters to them with sophisticated photo spots and limited-edition merchandise. Kids 3–10 enjoy the rides and meet-and-greets most. The park is fully indoor (great for hot/rainy days) and stroller-friendly. The merchandise is expensive but uniquely beautiful. International tourists from Hello Kitty fan cultures (especially China, Korea, Thailand) are very common.
