About This Destination

A sprawling theme park featuring one of Japan's largest limestone caves, a recreated Ryukyu Kingdom village, and traditional Okinawan cultural performances.
Okinawa World is the island's premier cultural theme park, centered around Gyokusendo, a spectacular limestone cave system stretching approximately five kilometers underground, of which 850 meters are open to visitors. Formed over 300,000 years, the cave contains an astonishing array of stalactites and stalagmites illuminated by atmospheric lighting. Above ground, the Ryukyu Kingdom Castle Town recreates a traditional Okinawan village using over 100 relocated heritage houses, where visitors can experience traditional crafts such as textile dyeing, pottery, and glassblowing. The park also features the Habu Museum Park, dedicated to Okinawa's venomous pit vipers, and daily performances of Super Eisa, a dynamic traditional drum dance. The on-site brewery serves Okinawan craft beer alongside local cuisine including Okinawa soba and Ishigaki beef.
