Honda Collection Hall
About This Destination
The hall sits in the middle of Mobility Resort Motegi, the circuit that hosts MotoGP, and it is the company's own museum. Honda opened it in 1998, and the collection now runs to about 350 restored motorcycles, cars and power products. The building tells the story in four chapters across two floors. The second floor covers the founding years to the 1970s, then the 1970s to the mid-1980s; the third floor goes from the mid-1980s to around 2000 and then to the present. The ground floor has a gallery, a library and the museum shop. Pieces in the collection include the RA272, which won Honda's first Formula One race in 1965, and ASIMO alongside the earlier prototype robots, though the display changes, so check the official vehicle list if you are after one machine. Photography is allowed, including for social media. There is a picture-story guided tour every day and an audio guide. Entry costs nothing beyond the park's own fee and parking, but the park fee changes by date, and on MotoGP and SUPER GT weekends only race tickets are sold. Without a car it is awkward: the only direct bus runs from Mito on weekends and holidays.

Get DirectionsFrequently Asked Questions
Does the Honda Collection Hall charge admission?
No separate fee. You pay the Mobility Resort Motegi entrance fee and parking: on regular days 2,000 yen for adults at the gate (1,850 yen online), 1,000 yen for elementary school children at the gate, and 1,000 yen to park a car. Prices change by date, so check the park's calendar.
Can I take photos inside?
Yes. The official FAQ says photographing the vehicles on display is allowed, and so is posting the photos on social media.
Can I visit on a race day?
Yes, but on MotoGP and SUPER GT weekends ordinary entrance tickets are not sold, so you need a race ticket, and parking is sold separately. Traffic around the circuit is heavy on those days.
