Daikanbo is a lookout on the northern outer rim of the Aso caldera in Aso City, standing at about 936 meters above sea level. From the viewing platform, visitors can see across the caldera floor to the central cones of Mount Aso, and the surrounding mountains form an outline that is often likened to a reclining Buddha. A short walk leads from the parking area to the observation point along the ridge. A rest house near the parking lot sells food and souvenirs. Access is easiest by car along the Milk Road, and admission is free.
