About This Destination

Woodland, pondside paths and imaginative play areas spread beneath the distinctive hill of Arimafuji in Sanda. This large prefectural park offers a family nature outing beyond Takarazuka, with different zones that deserve a route plan of their own.

Arimafuji Park brings the rural landscape of Sanda into a large public park beneath the hill that gives it its name. Woodland, water and open spaces sit alongside facilities designed for play and nature learning. The attraction is the chance to choose a pace: a gentle family outing need not become a summit hike.

Around the main visitor area, paths connect ecological habitats, the nature learning center and spaces that introduce the relationship between people and the local landscape. The Asobi-no-Okoku playground gives children a different focus from the quieter pondside walks. A thatched house and terraced fields add another layer to the setting. Consult the park map before trying to link several areas in one visit.

The Deai zone, including the park center and playground, can be reached from JR Shin-Sanda by bus or a longer walk. Other parts of the park have different approaches and are not all beside the same stop. Bring a picnic and water, check facility opening days separately, and leave additional time if you plan to explore the wooded paths.
