Kobe Port Tower is a red steel observation tower built on a pier in Kobe Port, first opened in 1963 as a symbol of the port. Its pipe-frame, drum-shaped form gave it the nickname Beauty of the Iron Tower. The tower closed in 2021 for seismic reinforcement and renovation and reopened on 26 April 2024. The renewal added an open-air rooftop deck, reached by stairs from the top observation floor, offering a 360-degree view over the harbor and city. It stands close to Meriken Park and the Harborland waterfront.
