關於此目的地
A small sacred island in the north of Lake Biwa, reached by boat and home to Hogonji Temple and Tsukubusuma Shrine.
Chikubushima is a small island in the northern part of Lake Biwa, administratively part of Nagahama. It has long been treated as a sacred place and is home to Hogonji Temple, the 30th temple of the Saigoku Kannon pilgrimage, and Tsukubusuma Shrine, whose main hall is a National Treasure. The island is reached only by boat, with cruises running from Nagahama, Hikone, and Imazu ports and taking roughly 30 to 40 minutes. A steep flight of steps known as the prayer stairs leads up from the pier to the temple buildings. A landing fee is charged to enter the island, and the temple treasure hall has a separate admission. Because sailings depend on the weather, it is best to confirm the schedule before travelling.
