Tojoko Toy Kingdom
About This Destination
Tojoko Toy Kingdom opened in 2000 beside Lake Tojo, a reservoir in the hills of Kato in inland Hyogo. The idea is simple: Japanese toy brands each get a room full of their toys, and children play with them. There are ten of these pavilions, including Tomica and Plarail Land with its huge track layouts, a Licca-chan doll house, a Sylvanian Families room and a play-kitchen house. They are indoors, so a wet day does not ruin the trip.
Outside are about 15 rides sized for small children: a Ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, a mini coaster, the Dream Train that kids drive themselves, and Texas Bronco, a runaway mine car that rattles past fake rock and an abandoned shack. Wanpaku Tubing, a 30-metre tube slide, opened in March 2025. In summer the Water Park Acapulco pool and a covered toddler pool called Chaipu open.
Admission and rides are paid separately, and both cost more on weekends and holidays. It works best for families with children under about eight; teenagers will be bored. Hotel Green Plaza Tojoko is a one-minute walk away and sells packages with park tickets.
