About This Destination

An old Seibu Railway amusement park that reopened in May 2021 as a full Showa-era set piece: a recreated 1960s shopping street with actors as shopkeepers, plus Godzilla and Ultraman motion rides.

Seibuen was an ordinary railway-company amusement park until a 2021 makeover rebuilt it around nostalgia for 1960s Japan. You walk in through Yuhi-no-Oka Shopping Street, a full-size replica of a Showa shotengai where the staff play shopkeepers and neighbours and scenes break out in the street through the day. Food stalls sell retro snacks, and part of the fun is paying with the park's own currency.

Up the hill, the Yuhikan hall houses Godzilla the Ride, a motion-simulator in which you ride through a city as Godzilla fights other monsters, and Ultraman the Ride. Lower down, Let's Go! Leo Land is themed on Osamu Tezuka's characters such as Astro Boy and Jungle Emperor Leo, and the park still has classic rides like a Ferris wheel and merry-go-round.

The main ticket bundles entry and unlimited rides. Queues for the two motion rides can be long on weekends, while a rainy weekday can be almost empty. It suits people who enjoy shows and atmosphere more than coasters; the street is the reason to come.
