Moomin Valley Park sits on the forested shore of Lake Miyazawa in Hanno and is the world's first theme park dedicated to Tove Jansson's Moomins outside their Finnish origins. Rather than thrill rides, it recreates the world of the stories: the tall blue Moominhouse open to explore, Emma's outdoor theatre, exhibitions in the Kokemus building, walking trails around the lake and Nordic-styled shops and cafes. Costumed Moomin characters appear for shows and greetings, giving it a gentle, storybook feel that suits families and fans. It shares the Metsä complex with the free-to-enter Metsä Village and is reached by bus from Hanno Station.
