Nagasaki Peace Park

Nagasaki Peace Park commemorates the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. The park features the iconic 10-meter Peace Statue by sculptor Kitamura Seibo, the Fountain of Peace, and the Peace Memorial Hall. The adjacent Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum provides a detailed and moving account of the bombing and its aftermath through photographs, artifacts, and personal testimonies. The museum's permanent exhibition follows a chronological path from pre-war Nagasaki through the bombing to the present-day peace movement. The park and museum are accessible by streetcar from JR Nagasaki Station, alighting at the Atomic Bomb Museum stop. The park itself is free, while the museum charges a modest admission fee.
