About This Destination

A low, wide waterfall in Oguni with a walkable path behind the curtain of water. Timed online reservation is required to enter.
Nabegataki is a waterfall in the town of Oguni in northern Kumamoto Prefecture, with a drop of about 10 meters and a width of roughly 20 meters. Because the water spills over an overhang, visitors can follow a path around and behind the falling water. The site became widely known after appearing in a television commercial. Reaching the falls involves descending a staircase of around 120 steps from the parking area. Entry requires a timed reservation purchased online in advance, and the park is open year-round from 9:00 to 16:30. Adult admission is 300 yen and free parking is available.
