About This Destination
Hitachi Seaside Park dazzles visitors with sweeping hillsides of blue nemophila in spring and fiery red kochia in autumn across its vast 350-hectare grounds.
Hitachi Seaside Park is one of Japan's most photogenic destinations, famous for its Miharashi Hill covered in 4.5 million baby blue eyes (nemophila) flowers from mid-April to early May. In autumn, the same hill transforms with 30,000 kochia bushes turning brilliant crimson red from mid-October. The park also features tulips, roses, and cosmos throughout the year, along with an amusement park, cycling paths, and a BMX course. Arrive early in the morning during peak nemophila season to avoid long queues that can stretch for hours. A rental bicycle is the best way to explore the sprawling grounds efficiently.
