關於此目的地

A preserved port district near Toyama's harbour where Edo- and Meiji-era merchant houses and a working sake brewery line the old Hokkoku road.
Iwase is a former port district on the northern edge of Toyama that prospered during the Edo period as a base for the kitamaebune coastal trading ships. Along the old Omachi street, restored merchant houses, storehouses, and shipping-agent residences preserve the character of the port town. The Mori family residence, a shipping agent's house rebuilt in 1878, is designated an Important Cultural Property and is open to visitors. The Masuda Sake Brewery, maker of the Masuizumi label, operates in the district and runs a standing bar for tasting. Iwase is reached by the Toyama Light Rail, a short walk from Higashi-Iwase or Iwase-hama stations, or by sightseeing boat from Kansui Park. Walking the streets is free, though individual houses may charge admission.
