糸島

Itoshima is a coastal city and peninsula west of Fukuoka City, popular for its beaches, seaside cafes, and scenic drives. One of its best-known spots is Sakurai Futamigaura, where a white torii gate stands on the shore in front of two joined rocks known as the couple rocks, connected by a sacred rope. The area faces west, so it is a well-known place to watch sunsets over the sea. Many cafes and small shops line the coast, and the beaches draw visitors in the warmer months. From central Fukuoka it takes roughly an hour by train and bus, or about 45 minutes by car. There is paid parking near Sakurai Futamigaura.
