About This Destination

A curved cliff about 20 meters high and 150 meters wide where hundreds of streams of Mount Fuji spring water fall, forming one of the UNESCO Fujisan World Heritage components.
Shiraito Falls lies on the southwestern foot of Mount Fuji in Fujinomiya. Water that has filtered through the mountain's lava layers emerges along the cliff face, producing a broad curtain of thin white streams that give the falls their name, meaning white threads. The main drop is roughly 20 meters high and the cliff spans about 150 meters. A short paved walking path leads from the parking area down to viewing points near the base. The falls were designated a component of the Fujisan UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, recognizing their connection to Mount Fuji worship. The nearby Otodome Falls can be seen on the same visit.
