About This Destination

A large year-round mountain resort near Lake Toya with one of Hokkaido's biggest amusement parks in summer, including wooden and looping coasters, and one of Japan's premier powder ski areas in winter.
Rusutsu Resort sprawls across the hills near Lake Toya in southwestern Hokkaido and is one of the region's largest amusement parks in the green season, with around sixty attractions including wooden coasters, a stand-up looping coaster and a monorail winding through the grounds. In winter the same slopes become one of Japan's most celebrated ski areas, famous for deep, dry powder across three mountains. The resort also holds hotels, hot springs, restaurants and a golf course, so many visitors stay overnight. It is a drive or resort shuttle from New Chitose Airport, and pairs with the scenery of Lake Toya and Mount Yotei nearby.
