Get DirectionsFrequently Asked Questions
How do I get to Mount Yoshino?
Take the Kintetsu line to Yoshino Station, about 1.5 hours from Osaka Abenobashi, then the ropeway or a walk up to the village.
What is Mount Yoshino famous for?
About 30,000 cherry trees planted over 1,300 years grow in four bands up the mountain (Shimo, Naka, Kami and Oku-senbon), blooming in waves from late March to mid-April. It is part of the UNESCO Kii Mountains pilgrimage landscape.
How crowded is Yoshino in cherry-blossom season, and when should I go?
It is extremely popular, so go on a weekday and arrive early. The staggered elevations mean you can usually find blossoms at peak somewhere on the mountain across a two-week window.
