A 1,212-metre mountain in the Suzuka range, reached by the Gozaisho Ropeway from Yunoyama Onsen.
Mount Gozaisho is a 1,212-metre mountain in the Suzuka range on the border between Mie and Shiga prefectures. The Gozaisho Ropeway carries passengers from Yunoyama Onsen at the base towards the summit, covering a height difference of about 780 metres in around 12 minutes. One of its support towers is 61 metres tall, among the highest of its kind in Japan. From the upper station there are views over the Ise Bay area, and the mountain is known for autumn foliage and for snow in winter. The granite slopes are also used for rock climbing and hiking. The ropeway is reached by bus from Yunoyama-Onsen Station.
