Greenland

Greenland in Arao, on the coast where Kumamoto meets Fukuoka, has one of the largest collections of rides of any amusement park in Japan, with around eighty attractions including nine roller coasters and a giant Ferris wheel over a hundred metres tall. Thrill-seekers can work through coasters like the Grand Bavois and the NIO, while families have gentle rides, a merry-go-round and seasonal events, and the park is ringed with cherry trees that draw crowds in spring. It anchors the wider Greenland Resort, which also has hotels, golf courses and a hot spring. Reached by shuttle bus from Omuta Station or by car, it makes a big day out on a Kyushu trip.
