Cape Muroto is a headland at the southeastern tip of Shikoku in Muroto city, Kochi Prefecture. It lies within the Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark and the Muroto-Anan Kaigan Quasi-National Park. The area shows rock layers that were once part of the deep seabed and have been pushed up by tectonic movement, and visitors can walk marked trails among the coastal rock formations and subtropical plants. A lighthouse stands on the higher ground above the cape. The Muroto Global Geopark Center provides exhibits and information about the geology. The site is reached by car or by bus from the nearest railway.
