Metasequoia Namiki is an avenue of about 500 metasequoia trees that runs for roughly 2.4 kilometres along a prefectural road toward Makino Highland. The trees were first planted in 1981 as part of a local orchard and farming project, and were later extended along the road. The avenue was selected for Japan's list of notable roadside tree landscapes. It runs beside the Makino Pick Land agricultural park, which has parking, a shop, and a cafe. The trees change appearance with the seasons, drawing visitors for fresh green in early summer, red and gold foliage in late autumn, and snow in winter. There is no admission charge to walk or drive along the avenue.
