The Akame 48 Waterfalls are a series of waterfalls along the Takigawa Gorge in Nabari. A walking trail of about four kilometres follows the river past numerous falls, including four regarded as the finest: Fudo, Senju, Nunobiki, and Ninai. The area is also known for the Japanese giant salamander, which can be seen at a centre near the trailhead. The path has steps and uneven ground and takes several hours to walk in full. Admission is charged at the entrance to the trail. The trailhead is reached by bus from Akameguchi Station.
