Uzunomichi is a pedestrian walkway opened in 2000 within the underside of the Onaruto Bridge, which links Tokushima with Awaji Island. The route runs about 450 metres to an observation room roughly 45 metres above the Naruto Strait. Glass panels set into the floor let visitors look straight down at the tidal currents and whirlpools passing beneath. The whirlpools vary with the tide, so their size and strength change throughout the day, and tide tables help in timing a visit. The walkway is part of Naruto Park and is reached by bus from Naruto Station. It has no dedicated car park, so drivers use the paid Naruto Park parking areas nearby.

## FAQ

### How do I reach Uzunomichi and is there parking?

Take a bus toward Naruto Park from Naruto Station; there is no dedicated car park, so drivers use the paid Naruto Park parking lots nearby.

### When are the whirlpools easiest to see from the walkway?

The whirlpools are largest around the spring and autumn tides and at set times each day, so it helps to check the tide schedule before visiting.
