Tobu World Square is a walk-through garden of scale models: 102 buildings from 22 countries, all at 1/25 size, among them 48 World Heritage sites. The park opened in 1993, and its models were made by a studio known for building sets for early Godzilla films, which explains the attention to weathering and detail.

The route runs through six zones: Modern Japan, America, Egypt, Europe, Asia and Japan. Around the buildings stand roughly 140,000 figures about 7 cm tall, caught mid-commute, mid-wedding or mid-festival, and spotting the small scenes is half the fun. The 1/25 Tokyo Skytree, unveiled in 2010, stands about 26 m tall and towers over everything else.

It is all outdoors with little shelter, so rain spoils it. Allow two hours or so. It fits neatly into a Kinugawa Onsen trip, since Tobu World Square Station is one stop from Kinugawa Onsen Station and a minute from the gate.

## FAQ

### How much is admission to Tobu World Square?

Adults (junior high and up) pay ¥2,800 and children from 4 to elementary school ¥1,400; under-4s are free. Advance tickets are a little cheaper. Check the official site for current prices.

### How long do I need at Tobu World Square?

About two hours covers all six zones at an easy pace; add more if you like hunting for the small figure scenes or taking photos. It is one stop from Kinugawa Onsen, so it fits into a half day before or after the onsen.
