# Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum

> Takarazuka’s Tezuka museum explores the imagination behind Astro Boy and other influential manga through artwork, personal history and animation. Plan around its announced closure from December 1, 2026 through March 4, 2027 for building equipment work.

- Prefecture: Hyogo
- Type: Museum
- Address: Takarazuka, Hyogo, Japan
- Official site: https://www.city.takarazuka.hyogo.jp/tezuka/

The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum connects a major figure in Japanese comics and animation with the town where he spent much of his childhood and youth. Takarazuka’s natural surroundings helped shape his interest in living creatures, a theme that runs through a body of work much broader than any single famous character.

The museum brings together personal history, artwork and spaces inspired by Tezuka’s stories. Moving between exhibits gives context to familiar names such as Astro Boy and Princess Knight while introducing the artist’s wider imagination. Animation-related displays and activities add another way into the material; check the current program rather than assuming that every activity is always available.

The building is within walking distance of Takarazuka and Takarazuka-minamiguchi stations, making it easy to combine with the Hana-no-michi area. An announced closure for equipment replacement and internal work runs from December 1, 2026 through March 4, 2027. Check the official calendar before booking a visit. Food and drink are not permitted inside, and there is no museum dining space.
