Michi-no-Eki Yuhi Park Hamada calls its sunset the best in Iwami, the western half of Shimane, and the setting backs it up. The building sits high above Hamada fishing port, facing west over the Sea of Japan, with a walking path and an observation deck around it. It is one of the older stations, registered in 1993, and it serves traffic in both directions of the bypass.

The shop, Gochiso Ichiba, is where to look for Donchicchi fish, the Hamada brand for nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), horse mackerel and flounder that pass the port's quality checks. They are sold mostly as dried fish and other processed seafood, next to local sweets and Iwami Kagura goods. Upstairs, the seafood restaurant Aizuya Hachiemon cooks fish from the same port and looks down on it.

The ground-floor food court has about 110 seats, a noodle counter serving soba, udon and set meals, and a Mos Burger. The noodle counter does a breakfast set in the morning. The official website shows the day's sunset time: on a clear evening, the last half hour is worth timing the drive around.
