Narusawa is one of the places where Mount Fuji stops being a distant postcard. The station stands on Route 139 between Lake Kawaguchi and the western lakes, and the mountain rises straight behind the car park. The village runs a rest room that faces Fuji and a lookout over the mountain and the Aokigahara forest.

At roughly 1,000 m the summers stay cool, and Narusawa farmers grow highland cabbage, corn, potatoes, tomatoes and daikon. The produce hall, which doubles as the JA Narusawa farm shop, sells them in season along with pickles and sweets made from local crops. The Narusawa Fuji Museum is on the same site, and a short nature trail passes lava tree molds left by old eruptions.

Clouds often hide Fuji, so the view is not guaranteed. The car park is large, but tour buses use it too. The produce hall and snack counter change their hours with the season and close earlier in winter.
