Michi-no-Eki Miki is as much about tools as travel snacks. Miki has a long association with metalworking, and the station’s upstairs hardware exhibition and sales area brings that identity into a place where passing travelers can browse. Saws, planes, kitchen blades and other tools make a very different souvenir selection from the food shelves downstairs.

The city also highlights a permanent eagle sculpture assembled from metal tools. Together with the sales displays, it gives the stop a clear connection to local manufacturing rather than treating the region as a label on a box of sweets. There are still regional food products and a restaurant for visitors who mainly want a meal or a break from driving.

The station stands on Route 175 in Fukui, south of Miki-Ono IC. Miki Horse Land Park is nearby but separate, on the other side of the road. Shop, restaurant and exhibition hours differ, so check the relevant facility before setting out for a particular purchase.
