Michi-no-Eki Kurukuru Naruto opened on 29 April 2022, on Route 11 between the Naruto and Tokushima interchanges. It is a newer station than most, and it shows: the building is big and busy, and the whole thing is built around local food. Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes and lotus root turn up everywhere, from soft serve to the sweet potato anpan at Imohoreta Bakery.

For a proper meal, Ouzu Shokudo is known for a rice bowl topped with a whole Tokushima eel. The Naruto Eemon counter sells quicker snacks. Menus change with the season and special events, so treat any one dish as a likely find rather than a promise.

The roof doubles as a tsunami evacuation area, a reminder of how low and close to the coast this part of Naruto sits. The whirlpools of the Naruto Strait are a short drive north, so the two fit easily into one day. On weekends and holidays, earlier is better for a table.
