Ito Marine Town is bigger and busier than most michi-no-eki. The brightly painted buildings line the waterfront beside Ito Sunrise Marina, a short way north of central Ito on Route 135, and the site is registered as both a roadside station and a harbour station. Expect around twenty shops and restaurants rather than a single farm stand.

The Asahi-no-Yu seaside spa is the reason to stay longer. Its big windows look east over the water, so an early-morning soak can catch the sunrise, and there is an outdoor bath and a sauna. Next to the marina, a free footbath called Attamarina is open during the day. For shopping, dried fish from Izu-chu is a common take-home buy, and the restaurants run from sushi and seafood bowls to soba.

Route 135 along this coast can be slow on weekends and holidays. The spa closes some days for maintenance, and shop, restaurant and bath hours are all different. Check the official site if you are planning around the sunrise bath or a particular restaurant.
