- [Ikaho Onsen](https://travel.japanvoyage.jp/travel_destinations/ikaho-onsen): Gunma, Onsen. Famous onsen town built around a 365-step stone staircase, known for its iron-rich 'golden waters' and scenic mountain setting.
- [Kusatsu Onsen](https://travel.japanvoyage.jp/travel_destinations/kusatsu-onsen): Gunma, Onsen. One of Japan's most famous hot spring resorts, known for the Yubatake (hot water field) in the center of town.
- [Takaragawa Onsen](https://travel.japanvoyage.jp/travel_destinations/takaragawa-onsen): Gunma, Onsen. Mixed-gender open-air baths along the Takara River in a mountain valley, among the largest in Japan, with 470 tatami mats of bathing space in all. They have appeared in films and travel guides.
- [Hoshi Onsen Chojukan](https://travel.japanvoyage.jp/travel_destinations/hoshi-onsen-chojukan): Gunma, Onsen. Hoshi Onsen is a single wooden inn, Chojukan, at the foot of the Mikuni Pass. Its big bath, Hoshi-no-yu, dates from 1895, and the roughly 40°C water comes straight up from the rock under the stones you sit on. Reaching it without a car means a train, a bus and a town bus that runs four times a day.
- [Shima Onsen](https://travel.japanvoyage.jp/travel_destinations/shima-onsen): Gunma, Onsen. A narrow hot spring valley along the Shima River in northwest Gunma with 42 sources, named in 1954 as one of Japan's first three national health spa resorts. Sekizenkan's 1691 main building is often linked with Spirited Away, and the lake upstream, Okushima-ko, turns a bright "Shima blue" in spring.
