Traveling from Kansai International Airport to the Umeda area of Osaka is simple and convenient. One of the easiest options is to take the **Haruka Limited Express** and get off at **Osaka Station**.

The journey usually takes about **60–70 minutes**. This guide walks you through the process step by step—from arriving at the airport to reaching Umeda.

You can buy the tickets used in this guide from JR's official website:

## **1. Arrival**

After passing through immigration and customs and collecting your luggage, enter the airport arrivals area. Look for signs pointing to Railways.

Take the escalator to the second floor, then cross the bridge that connects the airport terminal to the train station.

## **2. JR and Nankai Stations**

At the station you will see two railway companies:

- **JR (Japan Railways)** – used for trains to Osaka and Kyoto
- **Nankai Electric Railway** – mainly used for trains to Namba
-

For Umeda, you will use the JR side of the station, which is on the left side in the picture.

---

## **3. Find the JR Ticket Machines**

Once inside the JR station area, you will see the ticket machines where you can purchase or collect train tickets.

The JR ticket machines used in this guide can be found on the right side in the picture.

## **4. Claim a Ticket Purchased Online**

If you purchased your ticket in advance through the JR reservation system, you can collect it at the ticket machine.

Please note that you will need the **physical credit card used to purchase the tickets**, as it must be inserted into the machine.

Find the **green** ticket machine and choose your language. This guide uses English.

If you purchased your ticket beforehand online, choose the highlighted **“Receive reserved ticket(s)”** option.

If you have not purchased your tickets yet, you can also buy them directly from the ticket machine or from the ticket booth.

Next, insert the credit card used to purchase the ticket into the machine. The slot is highlighted in the picture.

The machine will then ask you for your four-digit identification number or the last four digits of your telephone number. After that, you can print your tickets.

If you need help, you can always buy your tickets from the JR Ticket Office, located right next to the ticket machines.

## **5. Go Through the Ticket Gates**

You should now have two tickets:

- The** **base fare ticket
- The limited express ticket

Place the two tickets on top of each other and insert them into the ticket gate at the same time. Remember to pick them up when you pass through the gate.

---

## **6. Board the Haruka Train**

The train has **reserved seats**, **non-reserved seats**, and a **premium car**. Follow the platform signs and announcements and board the car matching your ticket type.
